Dumb ass of the Week

Saturday, July 29, 2006

I swear I am trying not to rant so much but it is difficult when I am surrounded by dumb ass people. Today I’m reading the news and some freaking idiot puts a wire tie around this dog’s throat and leaves it to die.

I hate to admit this but if I could find this individual and get my hands on them, they would end up eating through a tube for a while (if they would be lucky enough to survive). When I think about this poor helpless dog and the suffereing it endured, I almost start crying. So much for giving up ranting this week.

FYI: I have surpassed a milestone as this is post number 101

Well congratulations on your 101 posts..

i'm lucky to now i'm amongst the ones who read thems..

don't apologize for needing to rant. if the world was perfect and you still found trouble where non existed then we would talk.
certainly and unfortunately the world is not. i'm glad that you can see the difference between right and wrong. between good and evil. i am glad that there is another human being who won't just sit there and no nothing...

how do we know that your writting won't get through someone who might not realize what they might be doing and change their way.

it is your blog. your piece of the world to talk about what you need to.

if someone doesn't like it, they can and will go somewhere else.

that son of the gun that did that to his dog is a jerk...i cannot believe the evil in some people...

take care. thanks for caring.

This is way beyond dumb ass. People who are born stupid can't help it, but anyone this mean has made a choice. I have adopted abused animals all my life and there are far too many of them. We humans are the cruelest species, sad to say.

It's unfathomable, the depths of depravity human beings fall into. I think it has something to do with original sin...

This one totally hits a nerve. I've always said (and it's true) that the one thing that can always shoot straight to my heart is innocent animals, especially dogs, being harmed. People who hurt puppies are the most base, loathsome creatures that exist. Harming people is absolutely wrong, yes, but there's something, to me, so very different and wrong about hurting an innocent little dog. Dogs are not bad. Dogs, at worst, are made bad by their circumstances. Normally, dogs are sweet and loving and sensitive and loyal. At their best, they're a better friend than any human you'll ever know. To be able to harm, abuse, hurt a dog with no provocation... tears can't even express how VERY VERY wrong this is.

My grandmother recently adopted a sweet little dog who was left to die near a dirt road. For two years she would go out every morning and bring him food. Finally, after her other dogs got old and died, she and some friends managed to get the dog to the vet, then back to her home. The poor thing is still skittish around everyone but her -- but I can't imagine what kind of person would throw a little puppy in a ditch and just leave him to die.

People suck. They just plain suck. We should all die and let the dogs take over -- they deserve this planet a lot more than we do. Well, okay, maybe not all of us. But a whole bunch, anyway.

I don't understand why people choose to take their misery out on poor helpless animals. What does it show? You have power over something? People need to f'ing grow up.

Is the dog going to survive?

"The Golden Rule," is a fundamental moral principle found in virtually all major religions and cultures, which simply means "treat others as you want them to treat you."
I believe that this applies not only to the relationship of human to human, but also the relationship to human to animal.
When they find the person that did this, and this was acceptable by their standard to do to an animal, then it should be done to them.

Congrats on the 101 postings!!!

I think the proper punishment would be to do to the human what the human did to the dog. There isn't any other way the wrongdoer is going to understand. Only I have no sympathy for the human.

We adopted a boxer who was the unfortunate pet of a meth lab. He wasn't abused, but he was left outside, alone, for three years straight. He had to eat any and everything he could get his hands on and he was starved for attention. He is now the happiest dog on the block because we spoil him rotten. Sometimes he will twitch and growl in his sleep and I wonder if he's having nightmares. At those times I could kill the bastards that did him wrong.

I don't blame you for wanting to rant. Hi there visiting from dr. john's.
It was, like another poster said, more than dumb, it was a conscious evil decision. Poor luv, but hopefully he will find a home where he will be loved and adored.

I'd love to help you put a wire tie around the neck of the person that did that! Not much makes me madder than seeing animals suffer cruelty at the hands of humans. I hope the dog turned out okay and that he/she now belongs to someone who will show it nothing but love and kindness. Dr. John sent me by the way.

It is terrible but think now, this pupster is going to be loved, have a home, be fed and a part of a wonderful family now. He was saved!!

We have a Basset Hound "BoBo" here (there may be a photo in my photo blog) He was a rescue and has half an ear and a lumpy head. He is so sweet and still looks up at me as if to say, "Am I really here? When are you going to kick me out?" That was four years ago... and I'm sorry Bo.. but you're part of this family now. Take care. Sent here by Doc John. -Margie

I am absolutely disgusted. I have a pet peeve (no pun intended) for people who treat animals with such disrespect. I have such a love for animals that I think if a heinous crime is commited against an animal, I consider it murder and that person should pay the penalty as they would if it were a human. But that's just my opinion and necessarily anyone else's or Dr. John's.

Thanks everybody for your wonderful comments!! And thanks to Dr. John for the referrals, you're awesome!!

The dog is still suffering from heart worms, heart murmurs and anemia but the swelling has gone down. They had him on the television last night and he looked much better.
